Jewish Marriage Contracts XVIIIth Century

GenAmi is proud to present to its members the great work done by our friend Jean BLOCH the GenAmi delegate for Alsace and Vosges.

On the basis of the list of wedding contracts studied by Aron FRAENCKEL and published in his book « Mémoire juive en Alsace », Jean BLOCH drow up a list of all the individuals quoted in these contracts with for each of them the first name, surname if exists, the location in FRAENKEL's book, the date of the contract, the place where the contract was signed up, the location of the notariat where the contract was kept, the father, the mother, the grand-fathers of the spouses.

Some information which are not in FRAENKEL's book was added after deeper researches.

This work is completely independant from all the previous studies on this subject. It is not a replacement to FRAENCKEL's book but it will facilitate its use.

By defect records are listed in chronological order.

Nota: In the fields "Last Name", "First Name" and "Place" the search is made on character string.
For example, if you choose "lev" as given name you will find names such as "Levy" or "Levi".

The query on surname and first name applies on both spouses names.
